REVELATION CHAPTER 19

Marriage Supper of the Lamb

By Don Hollifield

V1: And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia, Salvation, and Glory, and Honor, and Power, unto the Lord our God." Many people in heaven are praising God as He is ready to cast the final judgment upon the devil and his cronies.

V2: "For true and righteous are His judgments, for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand." God is a God of vengeance. His judgment will be true and righteous. He will avenge the blood of His servants that have been killed by the whore, and the corruption she has spread throughout the world.

V3: And again they said, "Alleluia." And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. They praise the Lord again as the smoke of the burning of the whore rises up. She is gone forever and ever.

This is summed up in: Psalm 37v7, 20 & 34: Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. V20: But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of the lambs; they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. V34: Wait on the lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land, when the wicked are cut off, thou shall see it. You shall see the smoke as the whore is perished in smoke. It is final.

Revelation 19v4: And the four and twenty elders and the four bests fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, "Amen; Alleluia." It is finished, praise the Lord.

V5: And a voice came out of the throne saying, Praise our God, all ye His servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and great." Praise our God: all you that fear and revere God, and are His servants.

V6: And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering saying, "Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigns." The voice of a great multitude cried out, "Praise the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent) who reigns forever."

V7: "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready." Jesus is the groom and the church is His bride. The bride is ready as the church anxiously awaits the marriage. This is the final act before given eternity. We are the bride and upon completion of the ceremony, we are as one and the gates of eternity are opened forever.

V8: And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. The fine linen is the righteousness of the saints, or those that believe. The bride is clothed in the righteous acts of those that believe, and have used their spiritual gifts in serving the Lord.

V9: And he said unto me, "Write: 'Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the of the Lamb'" And he said unto me, "These are the true sayings of God." We are all invited, but are we chosen to attend the supper??? We are called but few are chosen and only through our works and our beliefs.

It has to be earned as explained in: Matthew 22v11-14: And when the King came in to see the guests, He saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment. V12: And he said unto him, "Friend, how came thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. He had no righteous act and was not chosen and when Jesus questioned him, he was speechless.

V13: Then said the king to the servants, "Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." V14: "For many are called, but few are chosen." When the false messiah comes, there will be many deceived that do not know the True Word of God. They may be called, but not chosen.

Another example of the wedding is in Matthew chapter 25 about the parable of the ten virgins with only five being chosen who had full knowledge of the Word of God. The other five were also virgins since they had not followed the devil; however, they did not have knowledge of God's Word, and had not served the Almighty. They had no works. The door was closed and Jesus would not open it.

Revelation 19v10: And I fell at his feet to worship him, and he said unto me, "See thou do it not. I am thy fellow servant and of the brethren that have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." The angel was a fellow servant, who said don't worship me; worship God and follow the testimony of Jesus.

V11: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and He that sat upon him was called 'Faithful and True,' and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. Jesus is not returning as the sacrificial Lamb riding a mule, but as a great faithful and true warrior riding a white horse. He will both judge and make war against the devil and his followers.

V12: His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. He is the King of Kings, but what is His name???

V13: And He clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God. His garment was stained with the blood He shed on the cross for our sins, and His name is the Word of God.

V14: And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. The armies are also pure and righteous wearing fine linen. Both white and clean. They were without sin.

V15: And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations, and He shall rule them with a rod of iron, and He treaded the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. The sharp sword is the Word of God that can cut through the lies and deception of the devil. It also has the power of God to smite the evil nations and rule them with rod of iron. When He speaks, unlimited powers obey His every command.

V16: And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS," There is only one King in the universe and everyone is responsible to Him.

V17: And I saw an angel standing in the sun and he cried in a loud voice, saying to the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together into the supper of the great God," God is calling His clean-up crew. There is going to be a change of bodies from our physical bodies into our spiritual body in the twinkling of an eye. Our physical bodies will fall to the ground as dead meat.

Zechariah chapter 14 very dramatically describes the transfiguration. V18: "That you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."

God invites all the scavengers to feast on the many dead bodies that will fall to the ground. V19: And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army.

The beast represents the one world system and the kings are of the earth; as they prepare to make war against Jesus. The kings represent the four living dynasties; political rulers, financial rulers, educational or academic rulers, and religious rulers on the earth. V20: And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning brimstone.

This is the ten horn kingdom of the one world system, and the false prophet is the role of the false messiah that deceived many into receiving the mark of the beast and worshipping the devil. They are cast alive into the lake of fire, never to be seen again.

It's over! They're gone, forever! Satan will be released for a short period of time at the end of the millennium, but he will not have the same power as before. V21: And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat on the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth, and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. The power of the Word of God from the mouth of Jesus slays the remnant. And now all the foul are filled with the flesh of the remnant.

AMEN
